and Humidity
When the cooler weather
rolls in, the heat comes on. As we heat our homes the indoor humidity
drops. This can and will cause sinus problems in parrots (and all
birds). Amazon parrots are very sensitive to dry humidity. There are a
couple of things you can do to help your parrot with the winter climate
change.
- Humidifiers, either
whole house or room humidifiers all help to add moisture to the air
which soothes parrots sinuses
- Take your parrot into
the shower with you. The shower will also add humidity to which is good
for the skin. Many parrots love the mist from the shower which promotes
pruning.
- Fresh clean water is a
must for every bird.
